As we know that there are several places on earth to explore around. Some are full of natural exotic spots whereas some have various extraordinary man-made things like monuments, resorts, Beaches and many more things to explore around. Some places were known for its historical significance and some were known for its natural beauty. We just have to take some time from our busy schedule to explore these places.
Today I am going to introduce you to some places situated in Aachen in Germany.
Aachen is a city situated in Germany which is known because of Charlemagne who ruled this place in the early nineteenth century. He soon became the Holy Roman emperor and wanted to change the name of that place as New Rome. After him several Roman emperor was crowned, the last ruler was crowned 500 years ago from now.

Aachen Cathedral
The first thing which is going to be introduced about is a monument which was made by the first Holy Roman emperor known as Charlemagne was Aachen Cathedral.
Roman emperor Charlemagne was buried in this cathedral in 814.
A few meters away from this monument is a golden reliquary known as Karl schrein was constructed in 1215. The specialty of this reliquary is that it is still containing the exhumed bones of Charlemagne and this is the only example where the gold art of medieval time is seen. This cathedral was honored by UNESCO with world heritage status.
Cathedral Treasury
Cathedral Treasury is known for its the most valuable Collection of Medieval metallurgical art collection of gold and silver such as chalices, altarpieces, and reliquaries. This art was also seen in the building of cathedral cloisters. The magnificent architecture of the interiors is the top reason for tourist attractions.
This art shows the antique talent of Medieval architecture, also.there is an ivory hunting horn that belongs to Charlemagne. In the basement, there is a textile collection too.
Rathaus Aachen
This is a city hall which was made in 800AD and this was also one of the former residences of Charlemagne. This City hall was the favorite place for Charlemagne because it soon became the epicenter of his power. The palace holds the imperial castle of Charlemagne. This City Hall is one of the great secular building and in those days this place was used as a coronation hall by the Holy Roman emperor. Later 31 other coronation halls were built.
Couven Museum
This museum was named after the master-builder Johann Joseph couven, a famous Rococo architect and his son Jakob who constructed many burgher houses in that palace. This museum is a townhouse consisting of 34 rooms that show the bourgeois lifestyle in the 1700s and 1800s. The interior of the townhouse is well decorated with a variety of furniture and this furniture shows the masterful woodcarving of the Aachen lutticher style.
In room number five there was a pharmacy during the period of 1663 to 1878 consisting of albarello and majolica vessels.
Center Charlemagne
This museum is located in Katschhof, the former palace courtyard between the cathedral and historic town hall. In 2014 the museum for Aachen was reopened after renovation in the form of a new glass building. Carolingian period is the main period for Aachen because many changes took place in Aachen during this period and the role played by Charlemagne in framing Aachen into the city of Imperial coronations. This place also includes a corner for a temporary exhibition. This place is very well known for its cultural significance.
Elisenbrunnen
Elisenbrunnen is also known as Elisa fountain. This place is considered as the bathing and thermal region since Roman times. This was built by Johann Peter Cremer and Karl Friedrich Schinkel in between 1822 and 1827. This name was entitled by crown princess Elisabeth Ludovika of Bavaria, the future wife of Frederick William 4 of Prussia. The open pillared hall and the two lateral pavilions are examples of neoclassical architecture. The water which is rushing out with a strong smell of hydrogen sulfide from the two fountains has a temperature of 52°C know as Kaiserquelle. On the marble plaques, some names of the famous visitors were carved on it and one of the two names was Händel and Casanova.
Aachen Marketplace (Marktplatz)
This is one of the beautiful and attractive tourist attraction across the world. This market place consists of a number of places and monuments. Some of them were Town Hall (Rathaus) and Katschhof which has been mentioned above.
This market place looks attractive during the holidays that is Tuesday and Thursday. During these days all the vendors set up their stalls and the market appears to be flooded with fresh food and local things and the market seems to be very busy. This place is also used as a place to spend some leisure time with family and friends because this place houses many cafes and restaurants and these restaurants look attractive and elegant during night time.
