UTILITIES
The UK has one of the most competitive utility industries in Europe, with companies and individuals enjoying direct access to a wide choice of providers. The privatization of all the major utilities in the late 1980s and early 1990s has encouraged each industry to be more responsive and has led to lower prices for industrial and residential consumers.
GAS AND ELECTRICITY
The Office of the Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) regulates the gas and electricity industries in the UK. Ofgem’s aim is to bring choice and value to all gas and electricity customers by promoting competition and regulating monopolies.

WATER
There are three different organizations across the UK that are responsible for making sure that the water and sewerage companies provide a good quality, efficient service at a fair price, specifically:
